THE VOICE, SEASON 5

The Voice is a popular singing show that premiers on channel  7 NBC , Monday's and Tuesdays at 8pm. The Voice has aired for previous seasons and with being on the 5th one, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green return . This show does not allow the coaches to see the appearance of the contestants singing .If a chair turns this means the coach sitting in it wants the singer on their team and has pushed his/her button. If one or more chair is turned than the contestant has the ability to choose which team he/she would like to join. After three weeks of the blind auditions the coaches will have their team and be able to practice individually with them and fight for the label “The Voice”. With the returning Host;  Carson Daly ,and  Four amazing coaches , Blake Shelton ,Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green, will make teams that end up competing each other .  As the four coaches, search for talent,one coach will have the title of being the winning coach. On the first day of the blind auditions many people from ages 15 to 50’s sing their heart out to make the chair turn around. As the lights dim and the first person walks on stage, Lina Gaudenzi

hits the stage singing "landslide" ,she sings with a very country accent and powerful tone. Christina and Blake both turn their chair , as shes done Christina says ”you're very unique and passionate with your singing”  Lina decides to choose Christina. As other contestants go through the blind auditions, some get a button pushed and others have the coaches giving them criteria to work on. The coaches might say that they need more nurturing to the voice and to come back next time, or that if they work on different tones they have a good chance of making it next time. Ive been watching the voice since it first aired and I've noticed that over 50% of the contestants have had a musical background in their past and have either made it into a famous singers group or had a group or band themselves. Furthermore ,A 16 year old named justice who sings the song “mercy” hits the stage .As justice sings her song, Christina and Cee Lo push there button. Christina's determined and says she needs to coach her, unfortunately for Christina, Justice picks Cee-Lo. Its someone Else's turn to audition, the tone of the music is sad and a man named Malford Milligan is up next. The man is set onto camera and the host of the voice gives us some background about him, Malford being blind and albino speaks to America ”i came to a country where you have the ability to do anything, I'm insecure about my looks ,and the voice gives me the opportunity to shine “

As the lights dim, Malford takes the stage with the song “lets stay together” ,

unfortunately for him, no one turns but Blake and Adam told him some advice , he says "i was waiting for that moment ,so i could turn around”- Blake

“Go make a record so i can buy it already”-Adam . As for malford , he said “i gave it my all and ill remember this until the day that i die”

Justin Blake takes a risk by singing one of the coaches song!

My opinion towards this show is that quite a handful of contestants are extremely talented. I feel that once a coach feels a certain vibe from the singer they will automatically feel the urge to create them into a big star . I also feel that depending on the song choice the singer chooses, the singers need to have the ability to re-create a song and make it their own. If a song can be sung and remind you of the original artist, it doesn't give any bliss to what the artist can do. An artist could be extremely talented but the song choice is what decides it all. Things start to get risky, Justin Blake hits the stage with one of the coaches song “ sure be cool if you did” as soon as Justin starts with his song Blake automatically turns to the coaches with a smirk on his face , with only  Adam turning around  ,the song is almost over and with this country singer singing his soul out with a raspy edge , Blake tells the singer “ you have to sing it from your heart to mean it”, Adam cuts him off “thats your song Blake, i didn't even know” with laughs, the singer Justin, chooses Adam and is now apart of his team. I would have to say that the voice gives a lot of advice about singing or trying to improve. Continuing with more performances many have gone through with singing country , r&b, hip hop ,jazz,and soul. Many have gotten a chair to turn , few have gotten two or three and some receiving all the coaches to turn.  With more to show next to hit the stage is a 15 year old girl named Timayra , singing the song "girl on fire” she says “ I'm looking to find who i am as an artist and i hope the voice can help me” , as she begins to sing and hits the first  few notes , Christina is instantly amazed by how powerful this girl is , her vocal range is very high and as Christina said the Sky's the limit for you , with Christina turning her chair and also receiving Timayra on her team Christina tells her “ i really believe in you , you have so much potential, its endless”. Next is Monika Leigh who sings the song “The Thrill Is Gone “   with more of a softer tone than the past few artists , 3 judges besides Christina turned their chair , before Monika had hit the stage she tells America ” i want to pursue , life is too short. I used to do gigs at coffee shops and bars and I'm ready for America to hear what i can do” . All three judges want

Monika to be their centerpiece of their team, but Monika picked Blake . Up next is a guy named Preston, Preston who has been in a christian musical band for 4 years, finally decided to continue with music after stopping for a year. Since one of the band members had passed away, he influenced Preston to keep writing music , playing guitar and of course singing , he tells everyone “music is something in me “ as he finally starts singing the song “electric feel’ ,within  a short period of seconds all 4 coaches had turned around giving him the ability to choose whoever he desired. Adam had wanted him on his team and had told him “ what do i need to do, for me to be your coach “ Preston chooses Adam and the chairs were turned .Ending the night on a powerful note, Ce-lo, adam, and blake all have 7 contestants on their team and christina has 8 .

 Voices of all genres were heard ,some were good and some were not as good, as the voice continuous ,someone out of the groups will be given the label of “ The Voice" .  Throughout the journey these artists will fight and compete for the last spot , with tears to come and lots of joy and smiles, not only will they find the artists within them but they will discover who they are and become a superstar.
